Re: Inquisitor
Inquisitor is a large scale game of story based combat, like an action film. It is quite complex, with each character you control having slightly different stats, even if they were twins. It is a great narritive game, along great stories and heroic feats to arise. I use Inquisitor 28, basically a fan made scaled down version using the 40k minis but Inquisitor rules.

Lewis, I would focus on one game at a time. Atm your playing 3 games, and that means you'l suck at all of them.

He has a point. Get good at playing a game before moving on. I play Inquisitor occasionally to build a great story. It also allows me to have a great 'Action Movie' game against someone.
Seriously, it is a big change from 40k. A massive change.

Re: Inquisitor
well, why do you think you can just learn rules *clicks* like that? Inquisitor is very complicated and different to everything else, you dont just learn them like that. Same with fantasy, you refuse to buy the rulebook and ask for others' books to learn the rules, when the rules aren't the same and fantasy rules take ages to revise. If you try to learn every single rule about every game, it'll be weeks before you can get to grip with all of them, without confusing each one with another. i know you're having a fantasy game tomorrow... do you know fantasy rules?Warmaster wrote:SHOW me how to play i'm not actually starting i just wanted to see what it was like thats all!

Re: Inquisitor
This thread is supposed to be about the Inquisitor game, not if he knows the Fantasy rules. And anyway, I would like to know, how many people have actually played Inquisitor? Im just curious.

No-one, but Ben, you really don't know what is going on. You don't go to school here anymore (lucky) so you may be missing a few points there.

Re: Inquisitor
as an answer to zak, the only people in the club who have a 7e rulebook is me and ellis. even so, i'm still not exactly fluent with them.
Re: Inquisitor
Well, I really don't think anyone at club is going to fork out £35 quid on the 8e rulebook though.

Even still, read the thread name. INQUISITOR. Not FANTASY RULES. I was only asking anyway.
I had a game against some guy in GW yesterday, INQ28. Trust me, I have never had more fun gaming in my life. My sniper proceeded to perform long distance cranial surgery on any enemy character in sight, while my Inquisitor went toe to toe with a radical lord. I lost the game (he nicked the bloody scroll we were after) but my word, it was fun.

Ben, I am sorry if I caused offence. I didn't mean too. I was just trrying to say you may not understand why some people say certain things on the forums.

Re: Inquisitor
Well, as it is the most recent publication, the 8ed. MUST be used if a game of Fantasy is to take place at the club.
Back on topic, Inquisitor is very intricate, and it takes so much remembering that the rulebook states that a Pen and Paper is one of the most required pieces of equipment.

Well, I always try before I buy, and I've tried Fantasy, 40k and LOTR. Only 40k really caught my eye. I then tried BFG and Inquisitor. And now I shall be playing INQ28 along with BFG once I get a fleet built.

Re: Inquisitor
could you give the jist of inquisitor? what is the aim of the game, that kind of thing.
Re: Inquisitor
The aim varies. It's more objective based, but there are Annhilation missions as well. However, this game focusses on the smaller skirmishes to eliminate an enemy commander, capture a forward base etc.
In terms of game size, it goes:
Inquisitor
Normal 40k
Apocalypse

Re: Inquisitor
Inquisitor is a very story based game. Think like a Hollywood action movie. Each model acts on his own, with multiple models making up a warband. The rules are supremely different to 40k, along with the fact that you need a GameMaster to oversee the game to help with decisions. It is alot more forgiving with cover .etc. as the model doesn't always mean the character is in that position.
It takes alot of imagination it is excellent.
