It means you need to texplain how the Ultramarines have done so well.

The guys at GW just wanted to make 'the perfect chapter' so they came up with the ultramarines as a role model and came up with loads of fluff for them. What they fail to realise is that 'the perfect chapter' is extremely unimaginative and boring. However, GW fluff isn't exactly 'official' per se, so we can just like to think that they're failures anyway. Just because GW likes them too much doesn't mean we can make up our own defeatist fluff about them

I stood on an ultramarine dreadnought once.... i was happy
