Re: Isstvan 5 Massacre
Ok, many of you seem to misunderstand, and I'll put this as nicely as possible.
In the 31st Mellenium, mankind has been united in a Great Crusade that will take them into the Stars. At the forefront of the Crusade is Horus, cheif of the Primarch and Warmaster of Mankind's vast armies. However, at Davin, the Chaos Gods inflict him with a terrible disease and they worm their way into his mind, forcing him to rebel, but in secret. He tells only those who he believes would follow him from the Emperor's side.
At Istvaan (or Isstvan) III, he manages to rid his ranks of those he believes would remain Loyalist. Then at Istvaan V, he creates a fortress. He and his followers are discovered to be Traitors before he can begin his Black Crusade, and the Iron Hands, Salamanders, Raven Guard, Iron Warriors, Night Lords, Word Bearers and Alpha Legion are dispatched to end his betrayal. The first wave, the Iron Hands, the Raven Guard and the Salamanders, attack his fortress in a devestating assault that sees thousands of Astartes die within minutes on both sides. Then, as a vox transmission comes from orbit, the attackers pull back to several 'safe zones'. As they arrive, they come under heavy fire from the second wave, who are secretly Traitors.
So you see:
Attackers:
Iron Hands
Salamanders
Raven Guard
Defenders:
Sons of Horus
Emperors Children
Death Guard
World Eaters
The Loyalists aren't defending.
Also, at Istvaan, the Traitors are still very much like the Chapters we have around today. No mutations, no Daemons. Alongside the Traitor Legions they had traitor Guardsmen (then known as Imperial Army), Titan Legions and detachments of the Adeptus Mechanicus.

Re: Isstvan 5 Massacre
Now, as for the Second Wave, they're a little confusing.
They weren't defending, they were coming in as (you guessed it) a Second Wave.
Stop by tomorrow Lunch and Break and I'll run down how we'll do the Second Wave.

Re: Isstvan 5 Massacre
I'm going to play Salamanders. I'll probably create a 2000/3000pt list, fully painted, and include Vulkan. That's a lot to get done, but I have the summer, and I'm saving money up

Re: Isstvan 5 Massacre
I think we should now settle on a points limit.
I'm thinking 6000 per player, no Force Organisation Chart, but you need at least one Unique character. Any suggestions?

Re: Isstvan 5 Massacre
Sounds good Jake. I'd suggest the Loyalists gain Preferred Enemy against the Traitors, to show their hatred and rage. Also, if there is no Force Organisation, will we have some limits, such as not having an army full of Land Raiders? You'd have to be sensible and try and play along with the story.

Re: Isstvan 5 Massacre
Well obviously.
Zak and I discussed the Loyalists having the oppurtunity to buy Preferred Enemy or Furious Charge for +10/15 points respectively. We're playtesting Friday.

Re: Isstvan 5 Massacre
Yep,
I'll probs try an army of Raven Guard then, if I get the time.
