THQ have annouced the first Warhammer 40,000 MMO: Dark Millenium Online. In laymans terms it is WoW with Space Marines (even though Blizzard ripped off GW). Here is the first trailer from E3 2010:

Dark Millenium Annouce Trailer

In related news, E3 2010 also revealed a new trailer for the Space Marine game.

i wonder whether it will be free to play but pay for extras
or whether you buy the game and play it online
OR pay monthly?

i would SO pay DMO if it's f2p once bought. It does look truly epic. I'd probably go for khorne daemons if they are that well animated

i saw guardsmen in their too Razz The online one should be like guild wars, f2p. WoW is expensice, and it should be, it is MASSIVE. this warhammer online stuff wont eb that big and should therefore be f2p. But you know GW, always expensive

Thats out now. It was an update for DOW2. Its a new game mode.

And Jericho, what is wrong with the Ultramarine. And don't say everyone plays them, they really don't. Space Marine is definatly a good looking game, although quite similar to Gears of War.

Everyone knows that I'm not a fan of the Boys in Blue, but they are GW's cover boys, so you'll just have to put up with them appearing on nearly every promotional piece of marketing they develop.

You know what, I like the Ultramarines. They have a good background and fighting style. These new games though will be excellent, multiplayer will be amazing.

I just said I'm not a fan, not that I don't like their background. Their playstyle is a little too... iffy. It's a toned down version of the Wolves.
In fact, I love the Ultramarines' background. I'll try and explain why with a similar sort of situation:
You're a manager of a roadwork company. You're paid to knock down a forest and build a road there. You don't just go and deforest the area, and then pat down the mud so that there's a rough road outline. You then lay the groundwork, build it up in layers, until it's a well structured, survivable road.
The Ultramarines did the same thing. They paved the road for the planets that they conquered to become self-suficient, well established communities.

Exactly. Strong, quick and brilliant tactical expertise. Perfect Marines.

now, onto Dark Millenium. What do you think of what you have seen of combat? I like it, its not just point and click like WoW, but fast and active like most 3rd person shooters.

From the looks of it, to even things out, Marine players get to control one guy, but Guard players for example get to control 5 as a squad that act as one (so a fire command would get them all to fire).
I think that would work. Personally, I can't wait until i get to drive my bike off of a mountain! Very Happy

The only reason I don't like Ultrasmurfs is because they are too strict in battle tactics.

No more images like that. The thread is about the Dark Millenium Online game, Not Walrus and his pet Man.

Anyone heard any more about this? BOLS had a bit on it. Supposedly, even though the game is not completed yet, they say the game is fun to play already.

@CAT: He he, they will make us pay now. Get us all hyped up and slap us in the face with a bill. Each month.
