Warhammer Fantasy Armies.
Hi folks, I'm going to be starting Warhammer Fantasy.
I would just like to know, would anyone else be interested in starting it with me? I will start it regardless if others do, becuase I know people who I can play against.
Cheers,
Toast

I was thinknig High Elves, will probably get some during half term. Just a basic 2 core units and 1 general.

Fair does, high elves are very good standard people, they also have some of the coolest dragons in the game. They have some of the best spearmen too

Re: Warhammer Fantasy Armies.
Do not use large brushes on high elves. They are thick models and you will lose a lot of detail,m DEFINATELY undercoat them and when you paint the chainmail, brush downwards, to keep the shade, so you can see eahc individual piece. If you get spearmen, make sure you paint them before you stick the shield on them, also if you want tactics. I would suggest have a small line of spearmen holding your army togethe,r with archers and artillery behind, then a very high-powered special unit to flank the enemy. When eh charges the enemy will need more than one core unit to kill it, so he will ahve to sned in more unit,s then charge your spearmen to catch him offguard.

Re: Warhammer Fantasy Armies.
Lewis- they were my first two armies on the list for starting fantasy but the truth is, they both suck.

Re: Warhammer Fantasy Armies.
Actually, it depends how you play them. Sure Ogres suck and shuld only be played for fun, but wood elves can be a very competitive army in the hands of a veteran player.

When, I said veteran, I didn't mean Lewis. But you said neither armies are any good, so I was talking in general.

Ok. Most armies are though, I would just recommend what ever army you like.

Re: Warhammer Fantasy Armies.
for Lewis, i would suggest Empire, as they are very easy, good and simple, with plenty of units. They're basically the imperial guard, good all round. If you really wanted wood elves, i sguuest not going into all their special units any time soon. Stay with core units, like their archers, and you'll be fine, you just have to use their advantages well.
btw, in continuation to my tomb kings army, i was going to buy some more skeleton warriors, change of plan now, as they have risen the price, for 16 warriors(they're small skeletons) it's like £18. So i'm double thinking about it. Ellis and Zack, would you guys want a three-way 750 point battle first friday back?
