A Short-Opening

Hey guys, I started writing a small-story, here is the opening paragraph.
Sergeant Lexus raced down the corridor, his vox crackled 'Careful....Mutations....Monst..' It went dead. Lexus lifted his rifle as he rounded the corner. He wretched as he saw a flea-infested corpse. A shuffling came from behind and he spun to see these mutated monsters approaching him. They were hulking masses of flesh, some with tentacles, others with sword-arms. Lexus sprayed bullets at them, killing the monsters by the dozen. But it was no use, as there was a seemingly endless stream of them. He heard the distinct sound of death and spun to see more of the monstrousities. Lexus backed into the corner, trying desperatly to stop the monsters. He lowered his gun and closed his eyes as they surrounded him.....
